Very fast and very reliable, good router! April 7, 2009 Mrs. H. L. Chang 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I bought this router to replace my old one. The new X550N is amazing! Let me explain: as my hubby and kid both got new laptops this year with "n" wireless, we had to refrain ourselves from watching video online with more than one computers. But with the new router, all three of us can surf and watch videos online at the same time. And the coverage is great, too. Because my husband likes to take his new laptop and a cup of coffee to the backyard. He said he can use his laptop with no problem there.
I am glad about our decision of buying the new router.

When my Linksys G wireless router gave up the ghost, I spent a considerable amount of time researching the best one to replace it. I had never heard of ZyXEL but I was impressed by the majority of the reviews. It's rather difficult coming to a firm decision on a device such as this because every one has reviews that think it's the best thing since sliced bread and reviews that utter stark warnings that this device will ruin your life.
The installation went very smoothly in all respects. With the Linksys I was never able to set up a wireless LAN but with the ZyXEL it was a piece of cake. One of the main things I was after in buying the ZyXEL was a longer range of coverage for wireless. Our office is a 3 storey brick building with a large addition on the main floor and a basement. Not only does this wireless router reach all corners of our office but also two houses away from the office. And the increase in internet speed of 'n' technology is dramatic.
It's worked consistently for nearly a month now, and I'm hopeful for a nice long run.

Had this one for couple months in our office and it works great.
feature rich, but for most part leave it on defaults.
ALso you will notice from reading on blogs that there is a very similar model in EU, but do not use that firmware. we were playing around with that and we completely toasted the router. Zyxel just released a new driver so when you get this router head there and download it.
Best Router with built in wireless N so far May 10, 2009 M. Gad 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Got it after my Linksys N broke down, i was amazed how the coverage and speed improved dramatically, in the first floor and the backyard, i used to have 2 bars, now i get 4 bars all the time, with much better transfer rate to my backup drive and between Pcs, i like the way i can manage the bandwidth on the ports, really cool device.
simply excellent September 28, 2009 Jiri N (San Francisco, CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this router to replace kinda buggy Linksys RangePlus-n Wireless Router WRT110 (WRT110 was freezing when I connected several devices into it) and I have to say this was an excellent choice. The router is easy to setup, has overall more features than WRT110, has very strong signal (much stronger than WRT110 - places where my iPhone did not detect WRT110, Zyxel had full strong signal) and power adapter is from 110V-250V which means that works in both US and with $4 adapter in Europe as well (this is probably features not many people need, but I did on my long trip to Europe).
I also like web based management for mobile devices (it looks very nice on iPhones) which auto-detects browser you use (no more pinching on iPhone).
I connected several laptops, 2 iPhones and AppleTV with no issues.
