| Customer Reviews: Works well as an adaptor March 24, 2007 V. Bitowf For some devices, such as PVRs, you need a wireless adaptor that works with an ethernet connection. This is great for that application.
I use one with a ReplayTV and am able to stream video to/from my PVR w/ no problems.
Belkin Router July 12, 2009 Living-in-Plano (Plano, TX USA) We have used the Belkin Routers for several years without any problems. The ones we had are wearing out so these are replacements. They are small and are used as a wireless connection to our Replay TV units (similiar to TIVO). They allow sharing between units and a way to update the TV schedules by use of the internet connection. We have not used them for any occasions when we traveled but a sturdy carrying case is included.
using as a primary router as we speak October 3, 2006 Puffer Red (California, USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
contrary to the intended design, I just wanted a cheap wireless router for home. I bought this and had it running within 20 minutes. The speed is nearly the same as my hardwire DSL connection, 1.5MBPS vs 1.3MPBS or so. I guess some sort of auxiliary internet port would be good for home use but if you live in an apartment or with roommates who all have laptops, like it seems like these days, I don't see any problem with this. It seems like it would work extremely well as a travel router too, the main unit is about the size of a PCMCIA card and it comes with a sturdy travel case.
more than a router - an adapter too March 7, 2006 J. Painter 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I don't use this as a router. It also can be configured as what Belkin calls an "ethernet adapter" and Linksys a "bridge." Note that it costs less than the Belkin F5D7330 and other such products. I plugged it into the network port of a computer with no wireless capability (and no free slots), set it up, and now the computer is on my wireless network. Setup was easy with my web browser. It has been working fine for several weeks. Although I don't travel with it, I think the small size is a plus. I would have given it more stars if I had tested it in its other modes.
Belkin false advertising, WPA security does not work November 28, 2007 J. Fong (Earth) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
WPA security can't be set on this router even though it's advertised by Belkin as supporting it. It seems to be a bug or firmware problem that Belkin is not fixing! The router doesn't reset with the WPA settings if you try to set it. Only WEP works which isn't secure.
