Works great; Simple to set up. June 11, 2009 MT (Phoenix, AZ) 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
I had no experience with routers at all, and wanted a wireless router to do gaming through xbox live. With no previous experience, you put in the install CD, and it walks you through the steps easily, and it is up and running flawlessly in less than 20 minutes. A few months later, I also hooked up a printer and notebook, each in seconds. Anyone can set this up and attach devices to it. Works well with good range throughout the whole house. Great product. Highly recommended.
Works great now! November 3, 2009 rickshaw (Scottsville, NY USA) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Manual setup was easy after downloading the manual as the disc does not work with 64 Bit (XP or Vista). However, speeds were very slow (250kbs) so talk to customer service at Netgear, upgrade firmware, send back to Amazon. Amazon's customer service is always great so start the process on the next morning by 10:30 with a new router. Same results, talk to customer service who escalated to senior level after mentioning difficulties with Toshiba cable modems. Ah-ha. Off to TW and retrieve a new modem and Voila, thru speeds at 12mbs through the modem and router compared with 7.5mbs with the old modem connected directly to the computer. This is a great value as my laptop now connects at 200 feet from the house in my shop. None of the connection and problems were difficult, but it took a little patience. Apparently this is a fairly new model and I guess Netgear is still working some issues, but once the new modem was in place everything is excellent. And once again, thanks to Amazon for their excellent service and competitive pricing.
A Breeze To Set Up; Strong Connection May 12, 2010 Zachary Koenig (Fergus Falls, MN) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Setting up a wireless internet connection is often like experience the migraine headache: first comes anxiety, followed by the pain of the actual experience, and concluded with immense frustration at the time wasted. Just from my own experience (and those of a few family members), getting wireless "just right" is a monumental task. Fortunately, this NetGear product made the overall task much less frightening.
Basically, this product works like it should (no small statement in the world of wireless router technology). Just follow the basic hookup instructions, and let your home computers detect the signal. One helpful hint: Though the NetGear installation disc will prompt a hard-line connection to a base computer for product configuration, this step can easily be skipped if registering the product is not high on your priority list. Just get the cords right, and let your computer's wireless adaptor (whether purchased or imbedded) detect the network and you'll be off and running.
One of life's great ironies is that it often times takes multiple Internet consultations to set up a wireless internet connection, but in this case it was a much more positive, stress-free situation. I highly recommend the Wireless-N product (over Wireless-G) for its strength of signal. I live in a relatively large house, and each wireless device still gives me a working and usably fast connection to access the web.

This was my first time setting up wi-fi at my house. This router works great. I get a great signal all over the house with no interference at all. I ended up manually installing it because it had to be used as a bridge with my AT&T modem. That was easy following the directions off AT&T's website (just look up by your modem model #). I was nervous because I've never done it before but I was surprised at how easy it was and what a great signal I get form this router.
