5 out of 5 stars Screaming Fast and a Breeze to Set Up   November 11, 2008

From out-of-the-box to fully functional took less than 10 minutes. Very impressed with the ease of set up. My existing wireless enabled devices latched on almost immediately (even my Chumby!) + with my new Wireless-N card performance (throughput and signal strength) was better than I've ever seen before. Count me as one very happy user.

5 out of 5 stars Wireless-N Router which is cheap/idiot-proof!   December 7, 2008

This item cost all of $29.99 to make it to me! Can't get any better than that for a Wireless-N Router. Setup was child's play and I was able to get my home network up and running in a flash. Auto set-up really works and you are done with it in 10 minutes. I have devices that are Wireless-N compatible, although one of my laptops uses Wireless-B and the other uses Wireless-G. There were absolutely no compatibility issues, with the 3 standards coexisting in a functional network. Gaming was seamless and as someone pointed out, for a regular Joe like me who has DSL maxxing out at 6 Mbps, I wouldn't even begin to test the limits of this router's capability. Range and reception haven't been problems for me (though I haven't compared it against other competitors). All in all, a great buy for the average customer like me..

5 out of 5 stars Simple Wireless Internet   November 7, 2008

I had the Netgear WGR614 wireless g 54 Mbps and it was five years old. Two of my new laptops had wireless N so I figured it was time for an upgrade. Basically, I unplugged the WGR614 and just placed the WNR2000 in it's place - all of the wiring was there (Internet & power). Then, I went to one of my PC's which is the one that is connected to the router via RJ45. From there I put in the CD that comes with the unit. It detected everything and let me configure settings - took about 10 minutes. DONE! Three laptops and two PC's connected - DONE! BAM!! Wireless N! My older wireless g systems have no problem connecting. I get great range as I did before - I can hang in the yard by the pool and surf the web or play games like B2. I love Netgear and trust their products.

5 out of 5 stars Easy to use, looks nice, perfect for my home needs   March 28, 2010

I am leaving a review for this router since I used many online reviews to guide my purchases... :)

When my old Linksys WRT54G bit the dust, I replaced it with a Linksys N (the 120N version) and it was HORRIBLE! So slow and I did not appreciate the 'Network Magic' software that was automatically installed.

I went to BestBuy looking for the Linksys WRT54GL as my tech guy recommended, but since it wasn't in stock, I tried the Netgear router instead. Awesome! I didn't need to use the installation CD, I just followed the easy 6 steps and everything hooked right up. I like the way the router looks, I was happy with the instructions and the signal is great for our laptops.

The reviews on this one at (...) are so so but I've noticed that no one ever has 100% positive things to say about a product. ;) However for our home needs, this router works fine.

5 out of 5 stars Brings wireless to a whole new level.   November 25, 2008

I've been running a Wireless G network for a while now, but all but one of my machines has gone back to good ol' wired (moving to place prewired for Ethernet certainly helped). G just isn't fast or stable enough for the large file transfers I do regularly over my network. When I got this wireless N router set up (which was extremely easy, though most routers are these days), I decided to go pick up a WirelessN ExpressCard for my laptop to give the N side a real test.

I didn't do an objective speed test with hard numbers, mostly I just used my computer like I normally did, maybe a little harder. The real telling thing was that I was able to stream a 1080P HD video (MKV format, 90 minutes, ~8GB) from my NAS wirelessly over N while transferring over 600 RAW (~10MB each) and periodically pulling up websites, and hardly experience any slowdowns whatsoever, just as good, if not better, than doing it hardwired in to my router. The laptop I used is a bit quicker than the desktop I'd normally do that on, so that might have been a factor, but this router and Wireless-N really delivers some impressive throughput and stability, and it's still a very young technology. I can see myself going wireless again after using this Router.
